Taylor Farm Park — Senior Portraits in New Albany, Ohio

There are a handful of locations I come back to again and again for senior sessions, and Taylor Farm Park in New Albany is one of them. It's not a manicured, expected backdrop. It's wooden pathways, curved boardwalks, and fields that change completely from one season to the next. For a senior who doesn't want to look like everyone else's senior photos, that variety is exactly the point.

Why This Location Works for Seniors

Taylor Farm Park gives me more than one setting inside a single visit. In summer, the wildflower fields are full of purple, yellow, and white blooms. By fall, that same ground turns gold and rust, and the light gets low and warm in a way that makes portraits feel less like a session and more like a moment that happened to be photographed. That range means a senior's photos here don't have to look like anyone else's, even if their friends have visited the same park.

The wooden structures throughout the property add real depth to the images, not just a pretty backdrop. And the network of boardwalks and curved pathways gives us natural movement to work with. Some of my favorite frames from this location happen mid-walk, not posed.

Owen's Session

Owen's senior portraits are a good example of what this place does at golden hour. The light filters through the trees and the wooden framework and wraps around him in a way that's warm and diffused rather than harsh. Those are the images that end up feeling less like a portrait and more like something a family keeps for good.

What made his session even more memorable was timing. As we moved into twilight, a Hunter's Moon rose over the park, nature's own spotlight against the fall foliage and the deepening sky. It's the kind of detail no one can plan for, and it's now part of the story of his session.

For Your Senior

This is your session. You'll have real input on where we shoot within the park and what the day feels like, and I'm not interested in posing you into something that doesn't look like you. If you want the wildflower fields, we do the wildflower fields. If you want the boardwalk and the wooden textures, we start there. The goal is images you actually recognize yourself in.

For Your Family

Taylor Farm Park photographs beautifully across every season, which makes it a flexible choice regardless of when your senior's session lands on the calendar. And it's the kind of location that ages well. Ten years from now, this won't read as a trend. It will read as a place that meant something for one specific season of your child's life.

Fall is my favorite time to shoot at Taylor Farm Park. The color shift and the early golden hour make for some of the most striking senior images I create all year. I'm currently accepting fall sessions for the class of 2027.
