Sometimes Mother Nature has other plans for your senior portrait session, but that doesn't mean we can't create something absolutely amazing. Jackson's session is the perfect example of why studio sessions are a photographer's best friend when the weather just isn't going to cooperate.

This talented New Albany senior brought his passion for music right into the studio, and we were able to capture two completely different sides of his artistry. There's something captivating about photographing an artist who truly has an ear for music and the skills to match – and the controlled environment of the studio let us focus entirely on showcasing that talent.

We explored the contrast between Jackson's musical personalities: the raw energy of his Dean Dime Razorback electric guitar against the soulful, intimate moments with his beautiful Yamaha acoustic. The studio lighting allowed us to have a more dramatic stone wall background that emphasized the sleek lines of the electric guitar, while also providing the soft, warm glow that perfectly complemented the organic beauty of the acoustic. And don't forget we also snuck some favorites with Marlely, Jackson's Golden Retriever. 

What I love about studio sessions is the creative freedom they provide. No worrying about wind messing up hair, unexpected rain showers, or harsh midday sun. Instead, we can craft the perfect lighting for each shot, take our time to get every detail just right, and really dig deep into what makes each senior unique.

New Albany Class of 2025, you've got a rockstar among you! The future is looking incredibly bright for Jackson who will be attending Miami University in Oxford this fall, and I have no doubt his academic and musical journeys will take him to amazing places.
